Just days before the 2012 New York auto show, what we expect to be the refreshed 2013 Ram 1500 has been teased on the Ram Facebook page. The photo is the first in a series of daily teaser photos leading up to the truck’s April 5 reveal.
Not surprisingly, Ram is using social media to post the photos and has dubbed the campaign “A Giant Awaits.” Ram will release the first teaser photo on March 31 on its Facebook and Twitter pages, allowing the public to comment and take a gander of what the new truck will be before its official debut on April 5.
Today, Ram released a close up teaser photo of the grille and what appears to be part of the Ram badge. Earlier this month, we discovered Chrysler Group’s SEC filing regarding a number of new products plans, which included big changes for the 1500. The full-size truck will get the automaker’s new and more fuel-efficient 3.6-liter, V-6 Pentastar engine, which should replace the current 3.7-liter, V-6 rated at 215 hp. The Pentastar should put out 270-290 hp. Finally, the 2013 Ram 1500 is slated to get the ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission already in use in a number of Chrysler products including the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300.
